I have spent this week thinking about my bother Mick, going over photos on the
family PC for last twenty plus years and i came to a few conclusions;
Mick, you always had an eye for quality, (yes, obsessive). Be it the latest DENON
sterio or MARIN mountain bike, NIKON Camera or the smallest of components like
HOPE bottom bracket bearings, you would read magazines and study and
procrastinate and share all your findings with me over; an email, cup of tea,
beer or dinner. No surprise then, that you chose Lucy when you realise
how much though Mick put into acquiring something to love and treasure.... .
Mick, you devoted time and emotion to your family, whomever you were with and
whatever the occasion, there are so many photos of you sitting on the sofa with
a baby in your arms, or standing steadfast behind a gathering with a smile of endearment,
contented and calm.
And to the end, regardless of all that you endured in recent years, a
pillar of unwavering strength, positive, dependable and resolute.
Some of my favourite times spent with Mick were just the bike ride through Eton
playing fields as fast as we could go with the wind in our faces, jumping curbs, pulling wheelies, endos and
skids down to the river in Windsor for a costa coffee and chin wag. Shame we
never thought to take the camera, but these memories live on my friend....
All our Love, Makiyo, Leo, Lena, Hanna and me .
Note the photo of the obligatory sleeping on the sofa after a Christmas dinner and some cheer !!!
